I love Thailand period.
When I think of a good break that’s good value for money top of my list will always be Thailand. As my ah-beng pals say “CHEAP AND GOOD!” It should be the other way around “GOOD & CHEAP!” Check out my $$ breakdown and tell me if it’s expensive:
Air Asia return tickets = SGD$177.00!
Boutique Hotel stay = SGD$69.00 nett! With free breakfast mind you!
120cc motorbike = SGD$10.00 for a whole day!!
Massage/Foot flex = SGD$10.00 for 1 hour! How can I not go everyday?!
Let’s not even talk about the price we paid for our seafood/food feasts in Phuket! It’s OHHH-some,not just awesome!! If you’re going to Phuket, head to Jung Ceylon department store, go near the Boat/water fountain area and dine at this spot called LE SIAM restaurant. They have very graceful and excellent waiters there. Order SHRIMP FRITTERS, it’s so nice, fresh, sweet, crunchy, and not starchy – deeeelicious! The service and attention they’d give you at that restaurant will make you feel like you’re in a 5-star hotel. They pay attention to details. I love LE SIAM:)
If you’re heading to Phuket Town, don’t miss UPTOWN Restaurant. They serve yummy Thai dishes at UPTOWN, just near Phuket Square, around the intersection spot, you can’t miss this Thai delight. My fave is the Tom Yum Vermicelli coz it’s got all my favourite spare parts. Best of all, they now accomodate requests to serve it medium-hot-spicy. Used to be really damn hot & spicy when I dined here years ago! Try the steamed thai spring rolls If you’re really hungry, it’ll surely fill your tummy.
Oh, by the way, you see my headphones? This is my AURVANA X-FI headphone. Perfect when you fly. It’s NC or noise cancellation button’s perfect when there are annoying kids and passengers on your flight. Try and get one and you won’t get another headphone. Delicious! Excellent service! Easy on the pocket! The best phrase is CHEAP & GOOD!
I just finished eating at Jung Ceylon’s LE SIAM Thai fine dining restaurant. If u ever come to Phuket, visit this restaurant and you’ll love their food and service. For appetisers, try their deep fried prawn/shrimp patties – it’s as good as eating real tasty sweet prawns with just the right amount of batter and crispy flakes around it, simply yummy! I ordered Tom Yam soup and it’s got the right amount of what I want from it – sour, sweet, with strawberry tomatoes, more fresh prawns, fresh sweet mushrooms, spicy yet bearable, real tasty! I followed it up with a simply prawn paste flavoured rice that comes with some fresh chopped shallots, thinly sliced mangoes, crispy hebi (dried shrimp), some freshly chopped chilly padis (which I stay away from!), and a side dish of Thai styled, stir-fried pork – sweet and light with just the right amount of fat! We’ve ordered about 6 different dishes, 4 cool drinks, and my coconut pomenegrate drink/dessert! Total bill = Bht.960! Awesome! Or as my KL friend once say it Canto style OHHHSOME!
I’ll upload some pictures when I get back to Sunny Singapore soon!
