After weeks of waiting, it was time for the party experience of a lifetime! This marks the first time that the Heineken Sensation experience arrives in Asia and it kicked off in Seoul South Korea to a crowd of about 18,000 people all dressed in an Ocean of White.
Thanks to the folks at Asia Pacific Breweries and Heineken, Power 98FM was able to send a lucky winner and her friend to Sensation Korea.
No prizes for guessing that the dress code was all white. It took a while to get to our party venue at Islan Kintex and when you arrive you can feel the energy of so many eager party goers. This event actually originated in Amsterdam in the year 2000. In fact the entire festival of sorts kicks off in Amsterdam every year and it keeps growing bigger and better all around Europe.
I think what makes this year so special is that it's finally happening in Asia.

Here's our big winner Angeline (in the middle) with her friend Quiyan. They mega party goers and have been some pretty awesome parties all around the world and their verdict of Sensation Korea - Amazing!
I kinda think the white theme is very cool but I was surprised to find out that it all started as a tribute. You see, the founder of Sensation, Duncan Stutterheim asked party goers to dress in white as a tribute to his late brother and since then it's so iconic that it has become one of Senseation's distinguishing factors today.

I wasn't kidding when I said Ocean of White. We were up in the VIP lounge and from there we could look down at the party and as you can see, that's about 18,000 people all dressed in white and the photo only shows half of the room. There is another half behind the DJ console which is in the centre of the room or should I say arena, so literally it's like looking out into an ocean.

The thing about the Heineken Sensation Experience is the pyrotechics and set displays that add to the theatrics of the event. In Korea we were treated to a light show and some indoor fireworks.
The event lasts for about 8 hours and every experience is unique. This one in particular featured world class DJs Sebastien Leger and Fedde Le Grand.

This is probably my favourite photo from the entire event. Just look at the energy from the entire crowd and in the background you have this wall of fireworks that lights up the entire arena where you can see how huge this event really is. Mind you what you are seeing is just half the arena, I had the chance to go down there and take a walk and the energy and crowd is amazing. People are dancing and screaming and there's not a lot of room to move around because it is really packed yet you don't really feel it because you're having so much fun!
And of course what's a party without props right? Angeline decided to borrow those LED light glasses for a photo op.

I also had the chance to hang out with Sebastien Leger before his set and we talked about how he got started into DJ-ing and believe it or not, he started as early as 13 years old. It all began when he snucked into a club and was amazed by all the bright lights and dance music and it was then that he told himself that he wanted to be a DJ and as they say, the rest is history.
He's established himself as onf of Europe's leading proponents of contemporary underground techno and loves to bring a 'funk' style to his music, injected with a heart, sould and a whole lot of attitude.

Well there you go, that wraps up my Heineken Sensation Experience in Korea and it was amazing I tell you. I think for me this is now my best party experience, great company, great music and a whole lot of fun! Keep tuning in to Power 98FM because coming up very soon is a change for you to head to Kaohsiung, Taiwan for Sensation Taiwan.
Trust me, this is a party experience you don't want to miss out on so make sure you tune in to find out how you can win!
