Sonja Steinmetz

Sonja Steinmetz had her first brush of fame at the tender age of 5 when she appeared as a woodland fairy in the local newspaper in her hometown of Germany. Since then, she has somehow never managed to escape the call of the limelight. Dedicated to the study of theatre she has trained in Bristol, UK as well at the Atlantic Acting School in New York City where she was given the opportunity to write, direct, produce and perform in numerous off-Broadway plays. In Singapore she has been blessed to be a part of Players Theatre, a professional theatre company that is dedicated to producing engaging, high-quality productions for children of all ages.
Radio is just as close to her heart as the performing arts and after her brief stint as a part-timer on radio, she is proud to be a fully-fledged member of the Power 98FM family. There is hardly a time when Sonja isn’t listening to music so the fact that she now gets paid to play it and talk about it is sometimes a concept that still feels too good to be true. Sonja is very passionate about the local and international indie music scene and loves nothing more than going for live concerts of her favourite bands.
In her free time she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, collecting quotes, watching movies and trying to tame her cats. She’s a global citizen and enjoys travelling to near and far-flung locales chasing the next adventure. Her favourite things are usually blue. Sometimes green.

The last few months Power98 has been swept up in the Ocean of White that is the Sensation Party! Since the year 2000 it has been travelling the globe but every year without fail it traditionally kicks off in Amsterdam. I was very fortunate to have been invited by the lovely team at Heineken Singapore to attend Sensation Amsterdam and believe you me, it was the most spectacular party experience I have ever had in my life.
