Hello! You might have heard about my new show called Acoustic Lounge. It's that ad that says "for that other thing you do inside your room". That one!
I have been toying wth this idea ever since I joined Power 98. Thank God my bosses finally agreed. I believe that persistence coupled with the belief that if you feel strongly about something, it's bound to happen! I have great faith in local music talent.
This show is for all aspiring musicians as well as established acts who want to reach a bigger audience here in Singapore.
What better way to do that than play live on national radio!
Acoustic Lounge kicked off last March 2 with no less than Shirlyn Tan as my special in-studio guest. I was really excited and totally loved the show's debut with Shirlyn! She's just an awesome talent.
9 March RIDGE
Power Jam 2007 Finalist RIDGE were my guest last Sunday. I still have so much respect for this band. Really serious about their music. They're starting work on an EP so watch out for it soon!
16 March B-QUARTET
The band arrived late but delivered an inspiring performance. I was blown-away . Their album "Tomorrow is our Permanent Address" is out now anywhere where local indie music is sold. Catch these guys whenever you can!

Devils and Angels
Once in a great while, you chance upon a song that gets you hooked .
You wondered , "wow, what a song...who are these guys?"
Such is the case with Built to Last from the band simply called Melee (May-Lay). I've listened to this song God knows how many times and I still get goose bumps. The album Devils & Angels contain 12 flawlessly written songs- form upbeat to chill out songs. Plus a bonus track called You Make My Dreams originally by Hall &Oates. The Feeling's debut album, Twelve Stops and Home is such a refreshing collection of songs. Everything is so catchy and upbeat it’s no surprise I found myself humming the songs in the shower, at the bus stop, at the MRT station, everywhere! The first song I heard was Sewn – and I was hooked. Then I heard Love It When You Call. It’s one of my favorite tracks in the album along with Never Be Lonely- a song with simple and straightforward message that’s full of optimism….”People in love get fast and foolish…people in love get everything wrong”… Such a breath of fresh air from the usual songs about heartaches clogging the airwaves that are almost always depressing to hear. The Feeling may not be out to change the world, but they sure are happy to make it a bit brighter. Get this album now!
