Harry Corro

BORN (DATE & PLACE): Some time in ‘73, probably in the afternoon, and I’m guessing it was in a hospital.
BACKGROUND INFO: Catholic school all throughout grade school and high school. Then went to the university of life, aka the University of the Philippines. UP Rocks!
MARITAL STATUS: Not yet married.
LIKES: I totally dig vintage jeans and shirts. I buy anything from thrift stores to those really expensive label shops that sell, well, old, worn out and tattered shirts and jeans. Why do we pay so much again for these? I like those cool 70s and 80s music from Alessi Brothers, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates, Alan Parsons Project, Starship, and the like. Big fan of jazz from Ella Fitgerald, Earl Klugh, David Benoit, Manhattan Transfer, Harry Connick Jr., John Pizzarelli, Stacy Kent, Chuck Mangione. I love the new generation pop rock music from Melee, The Feeling, The Last Goodnight, Dashboard Confessional and so much more ! That’s why when people ask me what my favorite song is, I give them the “are you effin’ kidding me?” look. Politically correct way of asking this, is ‘What song have you been singing the past coupla weeks?’. Hehe
DISLIKES: Hmmm… I would have to say people who block the way when the lift door opens. People who think they’re ‘all that’. People who greet you by saying, you’ve put on weight! Fashion victims.
FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM: I come from basketball country, the Philippines, so I’d have to say at different times I rooted for Seattle Supersonics and Utah Jazz when they played the NBA finals against the Chicago Bulls. Don’t ask me about football.
FAVORITE THINGS TO DO WHILE ON AIR: I love to sing and rock out to cool songs, surf the net, talk to POWER 98 listeners on the SMS line, and dance !
MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT: Hmmm, I said the F word on air coz I forgot to turn off my mic, and ooohhh yeah, I recently put a caller on air who was the most clueless person this side of the planet. I don’t know why I didn’t cut him off…that was NOT fun. One skillet that can’t be undid! Haha
AND MORE ABOUT ME
Got in the business of radio at 18 as a newscaster. Worked in 4 radio statiions in Manila.
I do commercial voice-overs. People suspect that since I'm in radio, I can host. They're right.
ON AIR
Contrary to popular feedback, my accent is not American. It's neutral. I guess in Singapore, if you don't speak in the Singlish or Brit/Aus accent, you're American. But listen, and find out for yourself.
I host Double Expresso, 10 am - 2 pm, Monday to Friday. I also host BOUNCE every Saturday from 5 pm playing you the best hip hop, RnB and soul music.
Sundays at 4 pm, you can hear me on ACOUSTIC LOUNGE.
There. Me, in a nutshell.
