He was Joe Lenz, Uncle Mario, Sergio - just to name a few. Now, he's Singapore's SUPERMARIO. 

Born Mario Lajarca Jr, Feb.19, to Cecilia Ocampo Lajarca and Mario Santos Lajarca Sr. Before joining POWER 98, for over 10 years now he's done broadcast work with radio stations like - Manila's number 1 -102.7 STAR FM & 101.1 KISS FM now called YES FM, Sri Lanka's number 1 station - 89.5 YES FM in Colombo, 91.3 FM in Singapore and U.A.E.'s number 1 station - 104.8 CHANNEL 4FM, Dubai.

Our SuperMario has been voted by Colombo's listeners as the No.1 Radio DJ back in 1996 through ISLAND mag's readership poll. 

Mario's credits include songs he composed for top Filipino recording artists like Ric Segreto, Jolina Magdangal, Vina Morales, MP3, & Lloyd Umali.  He's produced a couple of jingles for Singapore's MCYS, HPB, SAF, Fairprice, Ichiban Boshi/Sushi, Chew's Eggs, and some in-house jingles for his radio stations.

Mario's Rock Revolution show is also one of Singapore's top radio shows every Sunday.  This show have won the hearts of Singaporeans and expats alike and airs Sundays, 5-8PM.

He supports local music and has broken-in tracks at POWER 98 for Electrico, Ronin, Rafe, EIC, The Great Spy Experiment, Shirlyn Tan, B-Quartet, among others.

If you're a frequent traveller, you may have also heard him over your International Inflight music channels entertaining you with both English and Filipino pop hits for different airlines.

Mario is a dynamic host for live shows, and a livewire on stage. He's a talented musician and carries his infectious tenor range with any repertoire he brings with him on stage.  . 

His eyes are now set in making a live album conceptualised as "TAKE ONE."  It'll be songs, performed and recorded just once and no re-takes!  Coming soon!

His self-titled CD has been reviewed well by ELLE, Straits Times Life, ST Mandarin newspaper, I-S Magazine, Pinoy Star Magazine, the former-STREATS, LoudMusik.com, Soft.com.sg, among others!  Thanks to Albert Tamayo and Emil Mayor for the magical sounds in the CD, with great guitars from Noel Mendez!

The Dave Matthews Band.  I mean, blue grass interspersed with rock, jazz, and a whole lot of attitude and skills! Who else can do that but DMB! But if you want other bands who inspire me - U2, Pearl Jam, Matchbox 20, Switchfoot, Alterbridge, Hinder, Radiohead, etc!

Your after-midnite meal/snack's @? 

Yong taufoo @ Henderson Market - the variety and the selection's just so irresistible! Or ...some shawarma or Khalzama @ Al Majlis (Cafe Le Caire) on Arab Street plus some sheeshah!

All-time favourite Movie?

"Patch Adams", basically most Robin Williams movie.
I cry easilly while watching heart-touching movies. 'Fact is I've watched it again on cable and I didn't notice tears fall down my face! I cried on Monster Inc & Gladiator...tissue please!! sobs!!

If you had just 1 thing to do in life, what would it be?

Hold and embrace someone really special and give her the biggest and warmest hug I've yet to give.  At least for the last time, I could hug someone I really care for - seriously.  I don't care about food, I believe Heaven's got much better variety and taste don't you think?
